Haines Junction (seen here in the distance) was established in 1942 as construction barracks during building of the Alcan. Today it is the gateway to Kluane National Park and a stopping point for Alaska Highway travellers. We took a break here to buy provisions and lunch, and collect information at the Kluane Visitors Center.
