We hiked a short trail onto this Rock Glacier on the edge of Kluane National Park. The mountain bedrock shattered during continual freezing and thawing over the past 8,000 years to create a tide of rock fragments which, lubricated by meltwater and riding on a core of glacial ice, slowly ground its way down the mountainside.

          Kluane National Park abutts the Tatsenshini-Alsek Wilderness Park which together comprise much of the huge isolated western region where British Columbia and the Yukon Territory meet.
