Tufted Puffin
We found lots of these guys off the southern shore of the Kenai Peninsula. Like other alcids, they dive deep down after their prey and live their life on the water except for the breeding season. The alcids " fly" under water using only their wings for propulsion - walking on land is difficult for them. (8/07)
