At the border between Yukon territory and Alaska lies the million square-mile Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge. This view from the Visitor Center looks out over the refuge, dedicated in 1980 to preserve the land for migrating birds, land mammals, and the original human occupants. Tetlin is one of 16 wildlife refuges in Alaska.
