This is our view from El Mirador de Aguila. It's an overlook across a steep and deep gully towards the mountains. A flock of at least 17 Military Macaws arrived on their daily visit (4:30pm) to feed before going to their roosting spot for the night.
We couldn't get a photo of the Macaws, they moved too fast. But they were a wonderful sight in all their colorful glory. Only a few thousand remain scattered among their fragmented habitats from Mexico to Argentine. Their decline is due to capture for sale as pets and loss of habitat.
