Interior Alaska
This remarkable room in the Museum, "The Place Where You Go To Listen," is a unique sound and light environment created by composer John Luther Adams. Developed in conjunction with the University's seismic geologists, the room is an ever-changing musical ecosystem of rhythms: daylight and darkness; phases of the moon; seismic vibrations of the earth; and dance of the aurora borealis. All sounds are in real time, converted from data transmitted by seismic computers.
