At Delta Junction, the Alaska Highway reaches the Delta River and joins the Richardson Highway, which runs from Valdez to Fairbanks. The TransAlaska Pipeline parallels that route. We stopped for a break near Big Delta, where the Tanana River and Delta River join and took this photo of the oil pipeline where it crosses the Tanana River.
