From Earthquake Park we continued along the Coastal Trail, and spotted this pair of Sandhill Cranes foraging in the mudflats. The tidal range around Anchorage is about 20' and the mudflats exposed at low tide are quicksand. Danger signs all along the trail warned humans away, leaving the flats for the birds.
