Glasgow's Forth and Clyde Canal was once connected to Edinburgh's Union canal by a series of 11 locks. Recently, a magnificently engineered wheel has replaced the locks. This Falkirk Wheel is the world's only rotating boat lift. We watched it operate in the pouring rain.
