There was excellent birding around the Laguna Santa Maria del Oro. It was obviously a favorite get-a-way spot for people in Tepic, and for a few gringos.

There was a nice restaurant here for the non-birders to hang out in, as well as some other shops and eateries. It being a Sunday when we were arrived, it was a busy place.

For future reference, it looked like one could safely boondock in an RV here.
