From the Lynn Canal, we rounded Point Retreat (its Lighthouse is seen here) on the northern tip of 90-mile long Admiralty Island. This island lies between Stephens Passage and Chatham Strait. After rounding this northen tip we turned south through the Saginaw Channel to skirt Shelter Island to our east.

        Admiralty Island is a lush rainforest wilderness with the world's largest population of nesting bald eagles and more brown bears per square mile than anywhere in the world.
