An hour later we began to turn into the Stikine Strait on our way to Wrangell. At this point we went to bed (around 10:30 p.m.) and set the alarm for 2 a.m. so as to be up in time to watch the transit of the Wrangell Narrows. We slept through the ferry stop in Wrangell. The Narrows is used by fishing boats and Alaska Marine Highway ferries, but cannot be used by large ships.
