
Soon we entered the long narrow Grenville Channel, 45 miles straight and 1,500-2,000 feet wide, separating Pitt Island from the mainland. We saw quite a bit of traffic here.
Nearby is the tiny community of Hartley Bay (populatioon 200) which played a key role in saving the lives of passengers and crew of the Queen of the North when she went down off Gil Island on March 22nd, 2006.
