So as to be ready for the 6 a.m. ferry check-in, we spent our last night in Juneau in the parking lot at the Auke Bay terminal. Low tide was 6:15 a.m with a tidal range of 24'. Ouch. The noise of our bike rack scraping on the ramp to the ferry made us glad it was there. Rather it than Clemmie's bottom.
The 2½ hour trip to Haines aboard the MV Fairweather, a fast catamaran, was unexciting. Couldn't see a thing but rain.
