We rode the Mt. Roberts Tramway to the top to see the views, visit the nature center, eat lunch in the restaurant, and go for a hike. The Tramway is operated by Goldbelt, the Alaska Native Corporation for the area. An interpretation film in the complex at the Tramway summit explained Tlingit culture and language. We found the hiking trails closed on our visit--late snow had blocked them, though we could see workers shovelling to clear them.
