From Canso, we wanted to give Nicky a whirlwind tour of the land of his forebears. We crossed over into Cape Breton and found our way to the hamlet of French Vale near the Bras D'Or lakes. This village was founded by four Gouthro brothers, one of whom was Bill's great grandfather. We went to the yard at the little church where we examined gravestones and saluted posterity.
