Young Heerman's Gull
This gull rarely occurs away from the Pacific Coast. The young are quite beautiful. [If you wish, compare this with the adult plumage which is quite different.]

We found this youngster, the only Heerman's, hanging out with a mixed flock of other gull species in the parking lot of Morro Rock, CA. (11/07)
